The light became redundant the moment the dye seeped into his retina.
But it was the wax that he found fascinating.
It bubbled and melted and was warm to the touch.
Until it burned.
And then cooled.
And stuck to the fluctuating cosmos that was his being.
A permanent, if misty and imperfect, coat.
He ran off last night.
Broke the chain and bounded into what seemed like nothing more than a thicket of tall standing trees. Dead and aching.
He hasn't come back yet, so after mother was dreary and uninterested we passed the chicken wire and went looking.
At first the aching was just for the trees, understandingly so, with their limbs cracked at every end, arms caught in cloth and toes crushed by heavy footprints.
Aches are contagious though. Our scratches are adding up like rain in a bucket and we've seen that tree a fifth time now, i think.
That's what aches the most.
A few days ago I exhibited at RAW!
It was an awesome experience and i made a heap of new traditional pieces for it. This is one of them <3
